Tablesheets 2nd edition.

In Tablesheets you can create spreadsheets for a really wide range of use cases. Create any excel-type spreadsheet with text-based cell values and have these information always in your pocket.

File import from MS-Excel

Your can import MS-Excel 2004 XML Files from any FTP Server. Follow these steps to import your MS Excel-files:

On your PC:

  1. Setup your FTP-Server.
    • On your MacOsX:
    • Activate FileSharing via FTP.
    • Connect your Mac to a WiFi access point.
    • Make sure, that the firewall allows incoming ftp requests
    • Take care about your MacOsX username: Username could be something like “Name Lastname”, where the account is nevertheless “NameLastname” without a blank charachter between Name and Lastname. Use this account name for your ftp connection.

  2. Save your MS-Excel File as MS-Excel 2004 XML Worksheet.
    • Please take care that your MS-Excel file is saved as MS-Excel 2004 XML File. the last component must be .xml
    • save the file somewhere to your directory which you can access via your ftp server.
    • Make sure that no directory has a blank character is his name. Valid directory name is i.e. “Documents”. A non valid directory name is “My Documents”. I’m still working on this issue.

On your iPhone/ iPod

  1. Setup your general Tablesheets settings at the iPhone settings.
    • Enter your IP-adress, your username and your password at the iPhone settings section.
    • IP should be something like: 192.168.2.1
    • IP should be the IP-address of your MAC with the ftp-server.
    • Please take care about your username, when using the MAC OSX builtin ftp-server as described above. (Username in MacOSX appears as Name_Lastname, but the required account name is namelastname).
  2. Connect to same WiFi network and import your file.
    • Make sure, you’re connected to the same WiFi network as your PC, when importing files.
